Does a high social media following = success?

Would you rather have a large group of unengaged followers or a smaller, committed, and engaged community? Serious question—because the answer determines your ability to truly find success through social media.

Every business has that goal: “hit 10K followers.” But what if those 10,000 people didn’t care about you or your business? What if you were just another video on their feed?

The belief that a specific follower count equals success might be what’s holding you back from building a genuine, engaged online community.

Focusing on follower numbers can be overshadowed by ego and lead to losing sight of what really matters: nurturing your community.

Here’s my biggest piece of advice for small businesses—or anyone relying on social media for success:

1️⃣ Build an engaged, inspired, and committed online community.
2️⃣ Create authentic, genuine content that aligns with your brand, goals, and values.
3️⃣ Show excitement and commitment to your social media presence. If you’re not excited or invested, why should anyone else be?

The next time you feel like you don’t have enough followers, good enough content, or find yourself comparing your business to others, remember this:

✨ You are enough.
✨ You’re doing great.
✨ You are not alone.
